General Job Description:
The registered nurse manages the care delivery for patients in the organization throughout the length of
stay to achieve quality outcomes and timely discharge by the following: utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, diagnosing, implementation and evaluation; coordinating the care provided by other professionals; delegating selected acts, tasks or functions that fall within the scope of professional nursing practice and the abilities of patient care assistants and universal service assistants; providing selected aspects of physical care within the scope of professional nursing practice as appropriate given the patient's level of acuity and complexity of care required; and documenting and communicating during each tour of duty the patient's response to care provided, consumption of resources and anticipated needs. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.

Equipment Utilized:
EPIC documentation, GE bedside monitoring, Flo Trak, Arterial Lines, Blanketrol Targeted Temperature Management, ventilator management, bipap management.

Required Skills and Minimum Years Experience:
Minimum 2 years Experience in ICU

Specific License and Certifications:
State of Michigan RN License
ACLS
BLS

Shift Requirement
FT nights(3 shifts per week), 7p-730a, every other weekend. Ability to on call 1 shift per 2 week period.

Floating to Other Departments:
Floating to General Medical Unit (C3).

Bedsize/Number of Rooms:
20 bed medical intensive care unit, 37 bed cardiopulmonary unit on GMU

Nurse to Patient Ratio:
1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4-->based on acuity of the unit (ICU), 1:4-5 day shift, 1:5-6 night shift, 1:3 if an intermediate care group (GMU)

Dress Code:
Hunter Green Scrubs
