Phlebotomist / PHLEB - Oxford, WI

Staff Today Inc. (STI) is currently seeking a Phlebotomist to work at a Correctional Facility in Oxford, Wisconsin. This is a registry position with our company Staff Today Inc.


Shift Details:
Monday-Friday, between 7:30 AM-4 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch)
Except Federal holidays
40 hours per week


Job Responsibilities:
Assist the Physician, Physician Assistant, and/or Nurse with patient flow in a clinic setting by measuring the patient’s vital signs and weight and scanning laboratory results in the Bureau Electronic Medical Record (BEMR).
Organize, schedule, and perform laboratory studies, specimen collection and process within the Health Service Unit, to include A&O in-processing, DNA per procedure, vaccine programs and PPD updates. This will include COVID screenings.
Prepare and ensure specimens are packed and transported according to the contract or BOP Reference Lab and document per Health Services Unit Laboratory Procedures. Ensure that lab requests are completed properly and all reports are returned from the contract lab, provider notified, log results in as received, follow up appropriately, and file/scan results in lab and medical record.
Acquire and maintain knowledge of the Health Services Manual and Unit Procedures necessary to accomplish the mission described herein, ensuring that the Laboratory Procedure Manual is updated accordingly.
Assist the Health Service Administrator (HSA) or his/her designee in the coordination of BOP and Contract Reference Lab contact, CLIA re-certification, maintenance of equipment and notification of needed supplies.
Assist the HSA and Clinical Director with writing and implementing policies that deal with the laboratory program.
Complete and scan into BEMR the Medical Treatment Refusal forms for any inmate that wishes to refuse laboratory testing ordered by clinical staff.

Requirements
Valid certification to practice in the state of Wisconsin as Phlebotomist.
Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified, in accordance with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Must provide proof of experience with specimen collection, packaging and
shipment to referral laboratories with knowledge of maintaining appropriate records and proof of experience.
Additional experience should be outlined as it relates to collection of testing as it relates to COVID-19.
