Camp Somerset for Girls is a four-year-old residential camp in the beautiful Belgrade Lakes region of Maine. We are committed to creating a team of staff members that are talented, independent, and passionate about empowering girls to be their very best selves and dedicated to creating a warm, kind, and inclusive community.
Our health center was built in 2018 and includes a nurse's station, triage room, med room, six bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a salon-style hair wash sink. It has also has heat, A/C, and Wifi.
Workdays in the Health Center can vary. Regular meds are distributed daily at meals and before bed. Beyond that, there may be days when the caseload is light, and you can spend hours relaxing, while there may be others when the caseload is heavy, and shifts are quite busy. While our population is made up of very healthy children, they will, however, not feel well on occasion. Colds, coughs, allergies, sore throats, sprains, strains, cuts, and fractures do occur at camp. Patients with serious ailments/injuries are transported to the local hospital or urgent care by our camp staff. Four nurses and a physician work each summer in our Health Center. We will gladly consider new grads who have passed the boards.

What is there to do in Maine?
Lots! Maine is one of the most beautiful places in the U.S. during the summer. There are fantastic hiking and camping and incredible towns to visit along the coast. Portland, Maine is a food-lovers paradise and is just over an hour from camp. Boston is about 3 hours from Manitou, as is the Canadian border.
