Certified Medical Coder – Inpatient

Start Date: 12/22/2025
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–4 PM (40 hrs/week)
Hybrid: 1–2 weeks onsite training, then remote
13 weeks contract

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Certified Medical Coder (Inpatient) to support acute care medical coding operations. This role requires strong technical skills and knowledge of federal, state, and payer-specific coding guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Perform inpatient and ED medical coding in an acute care setting

Apply ICD-10, CPT-4, and encoder tools (3M/HDS)

Research and resolve complex coding issues

Follow federal billing and payer guidelines

Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely coding

Support coder training and audit-preparation tasks

Requirements

3+ years experience in acute care inpatient coding

EPIC & 3M encoder experience required

CCS or CPC certification required (AHIMA, RHIT, RHIA accepted)

Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, coding guidelines

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
