Seeking Registered Nurses to assume leadership responsibility for day-to-day coordination of patient care activities for the unit while maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in accord with TJC, federal and state regulations. Provides direct patient care within the scope of the RN nursing license.
Assumes the role of Charge nurse as assigned providing oversight to ancillary staff during their scheduled shift. Provides direct oversight to the nursing staff as indicated in the absence of the Director of Nursing, and communicates with the DON on relevant nursing care issues. Participates in the performance Improvement through completion of assigned chart monitoring. Coordinates the performance of nursing care to patients within the scope of practice and in compliance with policies, procedures, and standards.
Actively works with the Service Development Department to facilitate admissions into the facility in a timely manner. Maintains knowledge of admission criteria and accurately documents admission criteria for new admissions. Functions as a member of the treatment team and communicates identified patient goals, interventions, and assessments.
Additional work environment characteristics include: sitting 4 or more hours per day, performing repetitive tasks/motion, and hearing alarms, telephone, and normal speaking voice. Stress is identified as a job hazard resulting from a hectic environment with frequent interruptions. An experienced and capable candidate would have the following:
•Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of nursing
•Minimum of 2 years’ experience in acute care nursing preferred
•Licensed to practice as an RN in the State of Kansas
• CPR Certification
•The employee must provide documentation of a tuberculosis test during new-hire orientation and annually thereafter.
•Having any Psychiatry experience would be a BIG BONUS for you!!
