Hospital Nursing Jobs Hospital Care
Hospital care refers to health care services being provided by a multidisciplinary team with specialized equipment within a hospital setting. Patients may visit a hospital and consult with a physician for a diagnosis, treatment, therapy or surgical procedure. Most of these health care seekers are treated and released in a single day. However, hospitals generally differentiate themselves from other facilities by their ability to keep the patient overnight or for longer periods of time when the patient is “admitted” due to the acuity of their affliction. There are a number of different types of hospitals which may provide care to targeted groups depending upon age group, type of specialized service required or offered and even geography. Different types of hospitals include: acute care hospitals, trauma centers, magnet or teaching facilities, critical access hospitals, children's hospitals and psychiatric hospitals. Hospitals utilize a range of funding sources, depending upon their structure, which can include institutional public funding, charitable donations, health insurance companies and health care organizations, both not for profit and for profit.
